My Project

In our classroom, reading is more than learning words on a page—it is an opportunity for students to connect, reflect, and grow. My students are eager to experience meaningful literature that encourages empathy, resilience, and thoughtful discussion. With a class set of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, along with a teacher’s guide and student activity pack, every child will have the opportunity to actively engage with this powerful novel. Having their own copy in hand will allow students to annotate, participate in collaborative discussions, and build deeper comprehension skills through meaningful literacy activities.

This project will provide equitable access to high-quality literature while supporting reading standards through vocabulary development, character analysis, written responses, and critical thinking.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane teaches lessons about love, loss, hope, and personal growth that resonate deeply with elementary students. These materials will help transform reading into an immersive experience where students not only improve academically, but also develop compassion and a lifelong love of literature.
