Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are incoming 6th grade students from Houston’s under served East Side. My students and their families are still recovering from the impact of Harvey, an overwhelming majority of which became homeless after the storm, while 89% of them were already dealing with poverty before the storm.

My kids are curious, engaged, and committed to their future success, they just need a community to believe in them, in order to help them achieve their goals.

Famed Educator Rita Pierson said, "Every child needs a champion". Our students need only for their community to believe in them, and invest in their future, and they will move mountains.

My Project

Your generous donation will allow our students to travel around the world through online virtual field trips, create digital presentations and digital report products. It will also allow me to integrate technology into our daily lessons, in order to increase their overall skill level using tech. These activities help them gain a deeper understanding of geography and culture.

Our students will use the Chromebooks to learn valuable technology skills that will prepare them for college and the workforce.

We are a Blue Ribbon Award winning school, but we have very little funding for technology. Our students need to be prepared to enter a digital based economy, and I need your help to make that happen.
