A Carpet in our Room Helps Kindergartners' Learning to Zoom!

My students need a new. clean, colorful carpet to stand, sit, or lay down on as they are reading, playing games, dancing, singing, and overall being inspired to learn!

My Students

My Kindergarten classroom is located in a rural North Carolina school. The classroom is a loving, nurturing place that encourages the children to feel good about themselves. Our day to day "hands on" learning activities have the children moving from play centers, to tables, and to the floor throughout the day. The children love to spread out around the room and interact with each other and with our learning materials.

Everyday, my energetic Kindergarten children enter the classroom ready to learn, discover and explore!

Because of this, it is important to have an inviting learning environment. When children feel safe and comfortable they are more likely to use their natural curiosity to explore and wonder. Throughout the day, my children are readers, math experts, scientists, singers, dancers, builders, techno wizards, teachers, authors, illustrators, and so much more!

My Project

My Kindergarteners spend a lot of time during our day on our classroom carpet. The children gather on the carpet for morning meetings, calendar, center "hands on" play, block building, math activities, reading books, singing, dancing, science activities and peer socializing. It is a space that is much more comfortable than the cold tile floor.

Our current classroom carpet is over 10 years old and is faded and fraying at the edges.

We definitely are in need of a new, warm, inviting space to gather and learn. A colorful, soft carpet will inspire these young, creative minds throughout the day!
