My Students
At this Title I school, most of the students (78%) are second language learners. They are eager to acquire English and become fluent while still trying to maintain their cultural roots. Most of the students are also from families with economic challenges. A large percentage of families (77%) qualify for free or reduced-priced meals due to income levels.
Despite many challenges, I am focused on assisting these eager students to become strong, contributing members of society, to bring their gifts and talents to the world, and to become great world leaders.
My Project
My students have access to limited school Chromebooks. We are looking to have one in our classroom that could be accessed throughout our day and throughout our curriculum.
These second graders need daily access to Chromebook time to be ready for the modern world.
They can enter the Google Suite to create a Google Document, Google Slide Presentation, or enter Google Classroom to complete teacher assignments. They can load videos or complete tasks in their digital portfolios through the Seesaw app. Students who are learning English or who need extra help with phonics/phonemic awareness can complete work at their level.
