I absolutely love my job! Even after 23 years of teaching primary grades, there is not a day that passes when I don't witness one of my students achieving a goal or experiencing some success. My job does have a lot of red tape, long hours, frustrations of a lesson gone bad, but there are many more moments of absolute joy. You can see a child's look of amazement when they figured out they can read, a child who realizes they DO know the answer, a child who writes a story by themselves and can read it back to you, a child who shows good citizenship or compassion after watching you model it 100 times, and the child who is able to turn the tides of labels by demonstrating to the world that they COULD do it. I love creating a rich environment where students can be challenged and highly engaged. I hope that you will be my partner in creating an enriched and inspiring environment for students who often face many challenges.
