A Canvas for Learning: Painting Futures With an Easel!

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Learning in kindergarten involves a great deal of visual aids and hands-on learning. Having a teaching easel in our classroom will support their development throughout the year. We currently have a SMARTBoard in our classroom that is useful for whole-group learning, but using it too much can interfere with my students' learning and provide too much screen time. In today's world, we have become very dependent on technology, which can sometimes fail us due to various reasons, such as losing power, the screen freezing, or we may experience a loss of internet connection.

Our goal is to create a learning environment where we can introduce new concepts through visual aids that will facilitate whole-group discussion and collaborative learning, using a teaching easel.

The young learners in our class love to build words with magnetic letters, write sentences draw pictures with dry erase markers, and read big books, which all make a big difference in their learning journey.
