My Project
Every child deserves to feel safe, calm, and supported at school — especially students with special needs who may struggle with sensory overload, emotional regulation, or transitions. With your help, we want to create a dedicated calming corner in our classroom: a space where students can take a break, regroup, and return to learning with focus and confidence.
This space will include soft lighting, comfortable seating, sensory tools, and calming visuals that help students manage big feelings in a quiet, non-disruptive way.
It’s not just a corner — it’s a support system for emotional wellness.
Our second-grade classroom is full of creative, curious, and kind-hearted students. Many are learning how to navigate school with extra challenges, including autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and emotional regulation needs. Some are English language learners, while others are simply growing learners who benefit from having tools to manage their feelings.
These students want to do their best, but sometimes their emotions get too big. They don’t need punishment; they need support and a space to calm down and reset.
