Help me give my students a classroom Google Jamboard, cart stand, and management license that will provide opportunities for local and global collaboration.
I am a teacher at a small school on the slopes of Haleakala in Upcountry Maui. More than half of my students live below the poverty line and all of them have the ability to rise above it. They are smart, social, and interested in just about everything! They are curious and enjoy exploring our island home with the friends they make at school.
Our classroom is a safe place for friends to collaborate on projects and is full of learning opportunities.
My students enjoy being able to rotate around our classroom to different learning stations. Students in our class can be found working quietly at chosen desks or sitting on floor pillows engaging in lively discussion.
Our classroom utilizes a flexible seating plan, a maker-space, and a collaborative atmosphere to practice skills and make discoveries!
My Project
This Google Jamboard will provide the kind of technology that will help all of my students thrive as writers, mathematicians, collaborators, and creators.
Interactive, engaging, and inclusive.
This interactive whiteboard will allow all students access to information in a large, bright, clear way. This will benefit my special needs students significantly. Not only that, information that was once erased on a typical whiteboard, will now be delivered right to the desktops of my students through their Google Classroom.
This Jamboard will seamlessly interact with their Google Drives, meaning that students who struggle with note taking and visual perception will now have content from the board delivered directly into their Google accounts. Sometimes the board, no matter how close the student sits to it, is still too far away. Giving them front row access to lessons on the whiteboard is EXACTLY what they need. Being able to store these lessons in their Google Classroom will provide their support teachers access to content from their general education group lessons. This will provide consistency and collaboration between teachers. This feature is priceless when it comes to providing that consistency and accessibility for students with special needs.
I included the stand for the Jamboard in order to make it a flexible part of our flexible classroom. The Jamboard will go where we go! The license for support will ensure that any technical concerns will be addressed by professionals making our learning curve shorter.
This board will not only strengthen our inclusive classroom by providing endless opportunities for collaboration and clarity, but will also do a million other AMAZING things! This Jamboard is a teachers dream; a solution. It is efficient, intuitive, and will be the bridge between our classroom and the world.
