My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Imagine a classroom where students are actively engaged and having fun at the same time.
Our school is nestled in the center of Downtown Philadelphia. Many come from low-income families. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. They enjoy reading and love strong characters they relate to.
Each book was picked with the goal to encourage my students to love reading.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
