This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm an English as a second language teacher in a rural elementary school in Western North Carolina. I have been teaching virtually since last March due to the COVID virus. My school district will begin a hybrid teaching schedule beginning on Monday, September 21, 2020.

In order to be the best teacher I can be and serve both my virtual students as well as my in-person students, I am in need of a USB document camera that can connect to my laptop.

With a USB document camera my students will be able to see me model lessons for them right on their Chromebooks instead of trying to see a projected image on the whiteboard behind my desk.

My Project

A document camera with USB capability will enable my English language learners to have a better view of the lesson I'm presenting to them both virtually and in person. Also, with this document camera I can turn the lens to project an anchor chart, big book, graphic organizer, etc. to my virtual only students while my in-person students are seeing it live.

When students are in the classroom, I will be able to plug this document camera into their Chromebooks and project their work to share with their classmates, as well.

Individual students can share their writing for all to see, work out a math problem for the group, or just project a piece of art, etc. I can see so many possibilities for how I can use this tech tool. I love the fact that students can share their work and creativity safely without having to move away from their assigned seating. I will be able to just move the document to them.
