Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The fourth grade ELI students are embarking on creating a story walk for generations to come. The students will be making posts that will hold a story. Each post will hold one page of a book. Optional take home activities will be included. Our goal is to make reading fun and accessible to all the people in the community!
The resources that I have asked for are for the take-home bags that will be for anyone in the community.
In these take-home bags, people have the option to continue the learning at home. I have also asked for materials to create the story walk. All the art type materials and science materials on the wish list are for the take home bags (ie. seeds, seed cups, rocks, bookmarks, foam letters). The photo frames will be used to hold the book pages for our story walk. We are trying to use resources that can withstand the elements and be around for a long time. We would love to have a bench where anyone can sit and do the activities if they so desire! All students will have access to literacy opportunities, engage families and community members, increase school readiness skills in a fun interactive way, and continue to build community partnerships!
