This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students surprise me daily with their level of dedication even in the remote learning environment. It gives me great pleasure to work with some of the most talented, dedicated, and disciplined dancers. The majority of my students are African American, where a large number of these students stories reflect life’s daily challenges in an urban setting.
For these students, dance is what they enjoy most about remote learning and they choose to participate enthusiastically.
They do their best to participate in my virtual classes. However, seeing me from head to toe is impossible with the camera on my laptop. I have to constantly adjust my camera for them to see either the top half or the bottom half of me when teaching. This takes precious time away from class. For my students to get a full view during instruction I need a wide lens to improve the quality of instruction for my students.
The CODi Webcam will give my students a better Remote Learning dance experience since they will be able to see all of me without me having to adjust my laptop screen so they can see either the top or bottom half several times during class. With this webcam they won't have to ask me to make adjustments which takes away instructional time.
The Safco Scoot 3-Shelf Metal Presentation Cart will get me organized and efficient with the daily transportation of two laptops, an iPad, my phone, and others materials I need for class.
I teach in a shared space, therefore, I have to move from one room to another everyday to teach with all my materials and technology.
