This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

3D printing is an art, science, and mathematics opportunity all in one! Our library serves approximately 2100 students, and I am working on building a Makerspace for the students. A 3D printer is the perfect way to start! This tool embraces every aspect of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics). Students will be able to utilize Thing Verse and other design sites, as well as their own creative genius, to build models, manipulatives, fidget-type toys, and more!

The goal behind this project is simply to offer another tool for our students and teachers.

Students come to the library for many different reasons, not just to check out or turn in a book. Adding more tools to our tool belt is always a smart move! Our high school is the largest in our district. It is classified as Title I because more than 50% of our student population falls under the poverty line. As the school librarian, I strive to provide unique learning opportunities to our students.

The library is more than just a library; it is a safe space in which learning of multiple calibers can occur. My students will greatly appreciate these new tools being added to our space! Please consider supporting this engaging and fun learning opportunity. Thank you!
