Imagine being a first grade student who is eager to read and the excitement you feel when your teacher tells you that you can borrow these new books. We have the books and now need your help with purchasing library envelopes so that we can keep track of where these books are.
Our first grade students are reading sight words, easy readers, and some are into chapter books.
Some of our students are English language learners and others receive Title 1 Reading and special education services. Regardless of a student's reading level, we try very hard to make sure that everyone has appropriate leveled reading materials at school and at home. We know how important it is to foster a love of reading from an early age and we need your help. Your donations will help us make a first grade lending library possible for 9, yes 9 first grade classrooms. The funds came through for purchasing the books and now we need your help with purchasing the library envelopes. With your help, we can start this program sooner than later.
My Project
Your donation will help us to begin our first ever Lending Library in 9 first grade classrooms. Our administration and teachers cannot wait to share this wonderful news with our students but need to wait until we have these library envelopes. All we need are the funds to purchase these two boxes and this dream will be a reality. Our students and their families will spend quality time every night reading books that are at the appropriate level for each student. Your donation will help approximately 200 families and 200 children.
Any donation that you make will help all our first grade students at our elementary school.
It's been a goal of our administration and teaching staff to make sure that we do everything we can to help our students become strong readers. We know that the school/home connection is crucial in making this happen. We have the books and all we need are the library envelopes.
