I am excited and proud to teach over 100 eighth graders each day in the area of English Language Arts. As one of four innovators here, my goal is to inspire my students to be better communicators, creators, collaborators, and critical thinkers. I do this through innovative teaching and best practices.

My Project
I teach English/Language Arts to a diverse group of 8th grade students. This year I want to make sure that I capture every good thing that they do. In my classroom, students have much choice and voice. I want them to use their critical thinking and communication skills to discuss texts, debate articles, and share what they know.
I am asking for the GoPro Camera and tripods so that they can capture those conversations even when I am not around.
I think it's important for them to learn how to intelligently share their opinions so recording their conversations will allow them to look back at them, receive critical friend feedback, and make revisions. Also, students will think critically and creatively to adapt their thinking into live motion pictures using stop-still technology and claymation. Specifically, we will use the technology to analyze the plot and major themes in the works of Edgar Allan Poe by re-creating scenes and special concepts such as theme, setting, and mood.
