My Students

My 6th grade students are fun-loving and eager to learn. They especially love hands-on math activities exploring new topics. Any time they can work with partners or in small groups, they are highly motivated and engaged in learning.

We are part of a small school in Northern Utah, which prides itself on challenging students, so they are able to meet or exceed grade-level standards now and when they enter middle school.

I love to see them excited about learning, and I try to make each day engaging for them.

My Project

My 6th-graders love hands-on activities to understand math better. The past couple of years have been hard for them with the pandemic. As a teacher, I need to help them fill their academic holes, and the best way to do that is with hands-on learning.

Please help me supply my classroom with manipulative that will help them better understand algebra, geometry, and much more.

The 3D shapes allow students to unfold shapes into nets to help them learn about surface area and volume. The algebra tiles allow them to show different terms found in expression and equations such as variables and constants as well as balance scales. There are fractions games to ensure they learn equivalent fractions using percents and pictures as well. They love interacting with manipulatives. Please help us!
