This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

"A Rover's Story" is a novel that was used for Global Read Aloud 2023. They always choose the best books! These books capture my students imagination, without fail, every year. I am excited to introduce"A Rover's Story" to this year's class!

As I read aloud , my kids have entered the story with me, letting it take them wherever it leads.

The discussions we have about the story we are reading are a-mazing!

Shhh...Don't tell my students the reading strategies I "sneak" in while we are reading. So easy to do with a great story!

We also need headphones, they are a essential commodity in our classroom, and unfortunately, they are not in our school's budget.

Looking forward to reading a wonderful story, out loud, to my 5th graders, as they follow along in their own books. And yeah, 5th graders like being read to, too!
