Help me give my students more comfortable seating. With the new guidelines, students need to use many rooms in our building. These rooms need chairs and desks, which would normally be in our classrooms.

My Students

Our fifth graders from Connecticut are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. With the changes this school year they have proven resilience and perseverance during the challenging year. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, and coming to school despite the changes and unknowns!

They love interacting with their peers, learning from each other both academically and socially.

Although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to take on a new year.

My Project

Our students are in need of new seating. We need stools for small group work and peer review. Small groups are so important to ensure we are meeting the needs of all students. Peer work is just as important so students can learn from each other.

Students need to be in close proximity to the teacher to have an effective lesson.

Due to the distancing, students cannot all sit on the rug. We are in need of some stools and benches. I will put the stools at our small group tables, so we can work together. I will also move the stools and benches to our classroom rug to have an effective lesson.
