This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a fifth grade team of teachers at a low income school, we do a lot of research to find meaningful learning opportunities for our students. Opportunities that help grow both our students' minds and self-esteem are far and few between. However, at The Outdoor School, they do just that.

The Outdoor school provides children the chance to experience new challenges and learning environments that push them, just enough, out of their comfort zone.

They build new self-confidence which they bring back into the classroom and carry with them throughout their lives. Please help send our fifth grade class to experience this amazing school!

My Project

Our fifth grade students will spend 3 days and 2 nights learning in the great outdoors! While at The Outdoor School, our students will group up and ban together to work to accomplish daily goals and challenges they set for themselves.

Students will experience learning in a unique outdoor setting and bring back with them newfound experiential knowledge of science concepts, better interpersonal skills, a universal respect for all living things, and a leap in self-confidence!

Being at a low income school, this trip will be the only outdoor camping experience that many of our students will ever participate in. This project will help cover the cost of bus transportation to camp.
