My Project

The books I have selected will be used for whole-group instruction with my 5th grade students. Each of these books was chosen to provide students with opportunities to engage with the rich text that shows diversity and tolerance. Both stories, The Hero Two Doors Down and Al Capone Does My Shirts are great reads of historical fiction. The Hero Two Doors Down is a fictional account of the contributions of Jackie Robinson. Both books will provide students with opportunities to engage in reading, writing and technology projects that address the themes of each story.
