Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hungry for knowledge and ready to put technology to work!

My class is made up of thirty-one fantastic 5th graders, and I have a cluster of 14 Gifted and Talented students.

We are located in southern California, in a socio-economically disadvantaged area. Although we have a computer lab at school, we lack the time needed to use them to do meaningful research, create reports or projects, or to use them as presentation tools.

My Project

I am requesting a flash drive for each of my students, so they may save their work and access it on other computers in the classroom or at home. I am also requesting a laptop that can be used by both myself and the students as a presentation tool. Computer skills are essential in our changing world, and my students will be asked to do more and more through technology. Having their own flash drive, they will be able to create and save documents, create and save PowerPoint and other presentations, and have the flexibility to use them at other times outside of computer lab.

My students will be able to accomplish new and exciting assignments that they otherwise would not be able to if they have the benefit of these presentation tools.

It will benefit them in the here and now, and later in life, too!
