My Project
My 5th grade classroom needs your help please. I would love for my kiddos to have flexible seating in the room for many reasons. My kiddos deal with a lot of social emotional issues due to poverty in the community. I would love to provide a safe and comfortable space for them in my room.
Benefits of flexible classroom seating:
Physical health
Flexible seating can help improve students' physical health by encouraging them to move around more. This can help build stronger muscles and core strength, which can result in better posture and overall health. It can also help students take movement breaks throughout the day to rest their minds while still getting some physical activity.
Cognitive function
Research shows that flexible seating can increase cognitive function by making children more physically active and decreasing anxiety levels. This can help students focus better on tasks at hand.
Engagement
Flexible seating can increase student engagement and agency by giving students the option to adapt their seating based on their mood or the project they're working on. Students can also listen to their bodies and choose a seating method that helps them learn best.
