Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are currently using the Google platform for distance learning. I have created a Google Classroom where my students can view and submit assignments. They can also communicate with me and each other. These are very difficult times for my student population and I am trying to keep them engaged with various documents and presentations.
My Project
Microsoft Office is a well-known processing software that has been around for many years. In school, we use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel often in 4th grade. In my role, I use it to create engaging documents for my students like writing stories and including pictures. I also use it a lot to create organizational documents for the classroom i.e; labels, lists, pictures, words for word walls and so much more.
Since I currently do not have access to my work computer, I am unable to create these documents the way I envision.
I am asking to have the Microsoft Office software for my home laptop, which I use mostly for teaching. With Microsoft Office 2019 installed on my computer, I would have the freedom of not having to use the internet to access the programs. I could be a bit more creative by having the liberty to download extensions to the programs like getting a variety of fonts for the programs. Different fonts help some of beginning readers and writers as well as my students learning to write cursive.
In closing, having Microsoft Office 2019 would make my Distance Teaching a whole lot better.
