Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My title one school was one of the schools with the worst CAASP ELA testing scores. They school and students have been working tremendously hard to improve their reading and the stigma that goes along with our school. Ever since I introduced the Magic Tree House series, my students fell in love. I only have handful of their books and they are constanly asking me to buy more. With your help we can get these books into the right hands! Their love for Jack and Annie is what I was hoping they would get when I first read them "Dinosaurs Before Dark."

Along with a good book, students love to sit around the classroom with a fluffy pillow or on a comfy stool.

My students really enjoy being able to pick where they get to sit. I have seen their engagement soar during lessons. The only issue is that cheap pillows are not comfortable for them. They regularly go back to their seats after about 10 minutes of "your choice seating."

With these comfy cushions, students will be able to choose these as an alternative seating during lessons. Students can be comfortable in their classroom. I get to sit in a comfy chair, why can't they get to sit comfortably too?
