Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have special needs ranging from speech and language to autism. They enjoy learning with technology. I am starting to integrate more technology into my curriculum to engage my students in more depth. The majority of my students are also English language learners and come from low socio-economic families.

Our school has a large magnet robotics program, however, my students do not qualify for this program due to their special needs.

My method of teaching is project based and I work on exposing my students to a multitude of experiences such as gardening, robotics, and coding to help make learning math and science more meaningful.

My Project

My students are enjoying learning about the history of our country and relating it to the recent election. I have been speaking about the different historical locations around New England that relate to how the United States started. I would like to bring them 3D pens so that they can create 3D masterpieces of places that are significant in history.

My students thoroughly enjoy demonstrating concept development with art so I would like my students to have 3D pens so that they can recreate historical places such as the Philadelphia Liberty Bell or Washington's teeth.

The students would then write about their masterpiece in the tone of a historian such as you would find in a museum so that we can create our own museum in our classroom.
