3D Printing to the Max!

My Project

Our school was gifted a 3D printer. However, we have no filament to use with this printer and we cannot print in multiple colors without the filament box to hold the various colors of filament.

We intend to use the printer to print rewards to motivate students in our PBIS progam.

The students are encouraged to exhibit good behavior and love to have little figurines and flexitoys to "purchase" with their good behavior tickets. Printing our own rewards will be much more cost effective and allows us to customize the items to our school colors and mascot.

Currently our PBIS rewards center around snacks and drinks. We are hoping to give our students a more permanent option as a reward for good behaviors and good choices.

The printer will also be used to create customized awards for scholastic achievements such as honor roll awards. The students will have tangible keepsakes for their accomplishments, not just a paper certificate.

The multi-color option of the printer will give our teachers the opportunity to create manipulatives and models to help the students better understand classroom content and theories.

As teachers become more comfortable and knowledgeable in using the 3D printer they will be able to teach the students to create and print their own ideas.
