My Students
We are a Title I School in an city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse and at risk readers. Currently, the entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Many scholars are also homeless and from low income households. However, they are warm, loving and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
My scholars are eager to learn, excel and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for 17 years and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
My Project
Through the use of the requested 3D printer, this project will facilitate scholars making artifacts for social studies project, science replicas or design whatever interests and excites the scholars. By providing a concrete hands on learning experience, scholars are able to see their designs come to life and take on dimension.
Life is about trial and error and learning to take a risk.
Learning how to design and create their prototypes is a great way for scholars to expand upon learning to take risks and grow. In order to learn and grow, failure is in evitable. 3D printing allows failure in a safe learning environment without children totally throwing in the towel and feeling defeated.
Please help up make this a reality. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
