This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are 9th through 12th graders in a community in the North. Many of my students are not on grade level in reading or math. Most of my students are of low socioeconomic status and many of their parents have just a high school diploma. Many of my students deal with adverse conditions outside of school, but my students have hope. Most want to go to college and want to do well in life. They know they have a voice; they just want to be heard.

My Project

This MacBook Pro laptop will help my students utilize our classroom 3D printer in a more efficient manner. This laptop will provide my students with the opportunities to program the 3D printer to create prototypes for our school and our academy. For example, my students can code our mascot (crimson tide) or our school building so when we are recruiting students to our school, we can give them souvenirs. Or, when we are recruiting for our academy, my students could code certain things like gavels, scales of justice, or a law book. My students have been craving more technology usage in class so this project will do just that!
