My Students

My fourth grade students are very motivated and excited to learn. Although their low income decreases their exposure to new experiences, we try at our school to really broaden their horizons. Through technology, reading, hands-on experiences, and field trips we are able to offer a whole new world to these kids.

Part of our vision at WES is "...empowering students to be self-motivated learners who expect the best of themselves." We try to do this by teaching them the essentials such as reading, writing, and math, but also the life and social skills that will help them thrive.

We work on cooperation, perseverance, compassion, and ingenuity. Paired with hard work, love, and your help we can continue to provide a well-rounded education for all our students.

My Project

At Woodruff Elementary we are a certified STEM School in the state of Utah. We do well with the science, technology, and math parts of STEM but I really want to bring more engineering into my classroom.

With a 3D printer, students can work through the engineering process, create their prototypes on computers, and actually make a real model.

Also, our STEM fair is coming up and I hope to help my students to work through a real problem, come up with solutions, create prototypes, test their prototypes, and be able to share their solutions with our whole school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
