Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fun, creative, imaginative people, that love to explore. They get bored with pencil and paper. I am looking to bring more kinetic solutions so they can get hands-on problem-solving skills. They are curious about how things work and why.
My students would be best served by exploring new developments in creative devices.
Things that would make them think outside the box. Sculpture is a major element that our program desperately needs. The ability to work with 3D elements would greatly benefit our tactile learners.
My Project
The 3D printers allow students to quickly see their creations in the round instead of just on a screen. The UV 3D printers are state of the art technology that will let students create anything their imagination can come up with. The heavy-duty paper cutter will give the students a chance to use common materials like poster board and tagboard and plastic. These materials are great for quick assembly and will let them quickly composite sculptures from readily accessible materials that are affordable and can be found as scrap from other projects. We can recycle leftovers from other departments and show the students the importance of being aware of their carbon footprint.
