My students need these Fuzzy Feet Glides on their chair legs because I REALLY NEED them. Between 5-6 classes in and out of my room all day, the noise is really distracting!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the wonderful job of teaching Social Studies (History & Geography) to about 400 students! It is daunting teaching from 2nd through 6th grade (so ages 7 to about 12 or 13, depending upon their circumstances). I use to travel from room to room to teach, but next fall, I'M GOING TO HAVE MY OWN CLASSROOM! I'm looking forward to having lots of fun making this subject even moreinteresting and exciting. I teach in East Harlem (also known as Spanish Harlem) and this is my 22nd year!
The craziest part of having 33 students in the classroom (hint: It's not the students, it's the scraping of their chairs back and forth constantly!)
Eureka!!!! There's a great contraption designed for my ears (and mind). It's called a Fuzzy Feet Chair Glides. They are sturdy plastic covers and they fit securely on chair legs with swivel feet. The thick felt pad helps reduce friction and noise.
My Project
Focus is a strong part of learning. With students fidgeting in their chairs or getting up to pick up for supplies, chairs are moving around constantly. The noise really detracts from classroom activities.
Fuzzy Feet Chair Glides are just what we need!
It's so simple yet super effective (and oh so calming for the teacher). They just attach to all 4 legs and away we go! Students won't slide all over the place but it definitely makes it easier and quieter to move away from the desk and do what they need to do. Better for everyone's ears. Thank you!
