This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My science students have recently explored the interaction between moving and non-moving objects in the context of force and deformation. They worked on inexpensive consumables and figured out Newton's laws of motion without memorizing Newton's laws equations. In this sense, they took the scientists' approach and learned the scientific principles by experimenting. Currently, they are working on a 3D design project to protect any item if it falls on the ground by accident.

My biotech students work on wet lab activities that include pipetting, electrophoresis, DNA fingerprinting, microscopy, and cell culturing techniques.

In addition, they work on paper foldable and low-tech hands-on activities. My students will work on a project where they precisely 3D model the DNA molecule and make manipulative of transcription and translation phenomena.

The 3D printer will open up more doors to new hands-on activities. Not only the current batch but the students in the coming years will also utilize the resource and have a better understanding of s given topic.
