Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Let me tell you about my students. They are funny, creative, energetic, and have huge hearts. They are lovers of all things "techy" and want to figure out how to use it (which doesn't take them long!) They are smart. They are also at risk. At risk of dropping out...out of school, out of the work force and out of life.

My students have problems much bigger than school and I need to show them, I HAVE to show them, that school can take them beyond their problems to a life where they can contribute, be self-sustaining and proud of themselves.

My hope is to inspire them to see life beyond the walls of their current situation to what is possible for them and make them thirsty for it. I have to help them see the value of education and where it can take them in life.

My Project

Have you ever had an idea but saw no way of making it a reality? With this STEM-ulating 3-D printer my students can see their ideas through to a real 3-D tangible object! My students can let their imaginations run wild to invent new things, solve real world problems or create new art forms. First, using TinkerCad a free online 3-D design program, they can design their object. Then this awesome printer will print their designs and create a one of a kind product that is totally their invention! This printer will give them experiences with success to hopefully pursue a STEM career!
