This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Integrating Math and ELA games into the curriculum transforms the learning process by replacing passive memorization with active, joyful engagement. By gamifying these core subjects, you create a low-stakes environment that significantly reduces academic anxiety, allowing students to experiment with complex concepts and learn from mistakes without fear.

This approach also naturally supports differentiation, as games can be easily adapted to various skill levels, ensuring that every learner stays in their "flow state." Ultimately, these tools bridge the gap between abstract theory and practical application, fostering a deeper, more permanent understanding of logic and literacy through immersive play.

During our WIN sessions, these games allow for targeted, small-group intervention where students can practice specific phonics patterns or addition strategies at their own pace in a stress-free environment. Transitioning these activities into Fun Friday then rewards their hard work by turning rigorous standards into social, high-energy challenges that build confidence and peer collaboration. By blending instruction with play, we reduce learning anxiety and ensure that every student remains deeply engaged in their journey toward literacy and numeracy.
