My Project

Healthy snacks will make a meaningful difference in my 2nd grade classroom by helping students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. Many of my students arrive at school hungry or go long stretches between meals, which can make it difficult for them to concentrate, participate, and regulate their emotions during lessons.

Providing snacks will support the whole child by meeting a basic need so students can fully engage in reading, math, and hands-on learning activities.

When students have access to nutritious snacks, they are calmer, more attentive, and better able to collaborate with peers and persevere through challenging tasks.

These snacks will also help create an equitable learning environment where all students feel cared for and supported. By removing hunger as a barrier, this project will help my students feel safe, confident, and ready to do their best every day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
