My Students

My sweet students are so happy to come to school each day. I am always greeted with smiles, hugs, and plenty of excitement as we walk down the hall to our classroom. They love being at school in-person again. For many of my second graders, the last time they were in-person was kindergarten.

I can't change what's in my student's bank account, but I can change what's in their emotional account.

Our school is in a high poverty area of a large city. I want to see ALL their physical, emotional, and academic needs met.

My Project

Right now our classroom does not have building supplies for students to explore during science center time. Legos are a fantistic way for students to explore and express their creativity. I have seen it with my own children. I will use them for science and STEAM centers during small groups.

This kind of play leads to an interest in science and technology fields like engineering.

I want to provide varied educational supplies for my students. I hope that building with these Lego STEAM toys will nurture a love of science for my students.
