21st Century Learners

My students need Chromebooks on a daily basis. At our school, we share Chromebooks often times with three other teachers. Therefore, we only get to have them about once a week.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face, I believe if each child is made to feel important and valued they can learn.

My students are creative and willing to try new things.

They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Since many of them are from single parent homes where technology is minimal, when they get the chance to use technology they can do great things.

My Project

In order to facilitate students becoming prepared to be successful in the 21st Century, I am interested in allowing them to have access to more technology in the classroom on a daily basis. Technology is vital for these students.

My students need Chromebooks on a daily basis.

Currently, at GMS our student's have access to technology in their classrooms about once a week. Increasing the amount of Chromebooks available in class will allow me to design more lessons that include technology on a daily basis. It is my hope that with the addition of these Chromebooks plus the ones I have in my classroom now, will allow each student to have access to technology daily.
