My Project

My younger students love participating in the North Carolina Children's Book Award program every year. With this project, my 4th and 5th-grade students will have the opportunity to continue with the program by reading books nominated by other North Carolina students. For the North Carolina Junior Book section of the program, students read at least three books out of ten or more nominees throughout the school year. In the spring, they vote for their favorite book. Students are so excited to find out which book received the most votes from their grade, which book received the most votes from our school, and which book received the most votes from the children in North Carolina.

Students will love voting for their favorite North Carolina Junior Book Award Nominees after checking out and reading these great books.

With this project, we will be able to add additional copies of these high-demand books to the library. This program chooses student-nominated books from a variety of genres and reading levels so it is a great program for all our interested 4th and 5th-grade students!
