Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Each year The Sunshine State Young Readers Award recommend a set of books for students in Florida to read. While these books are sometimes in the media center and sometimes available to students, I'd like my students to have their own classroom copy. The Sunshine State Young Readers Program suggests an array of genres each year.

With their own classroom set of the Sunshine State Books, my students will be able to have access to them rather than having to go to the media center only to learn that there are no more copies available.

It will also encourage reading as they will be able to have immediate access to them.
