My Students

My school is very diverse and is comprised of students from all parts of the city. We have students from all walks of life, including English language learners, autistic support students, learning support students, and students that are economically disadvantaged. Many of our students come from broken homes and do not have the advantages that come from having stable home environments. Eighty-seven percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Though many of my students are faced with many challenges, they are always excited to learn!

My classes consist of 21 wonderful 3rd-grade dreamers and thinkers.

They are an inspiration to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it. My students walk into the classroom every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn in an innovative way.

They bring joy to my heart every time they express their ideas or thoughts about the topic we are studying. It is a pleasure to see them grow!

My Project

Have you ever walked into a 3rd grade classroom? If you have not, imagine this- Children sitting at their tables, on the floor or in a tent working hard and trying to complete all assignments. The bell rings, students need to move to a new assignment quickly and with ease. They stand up with colorful pencil pouches filled with striped wood case pencils, animal pencil erasers, fine tip pens, bubble-shaped post-it, dry eraser chalkboard cleanser, and mini pocket happy journals and walk to the next assigned area- the writing corner. The students begin to pick up their journals, write about their favorite animal or a sport. Once they have completed the writing process. The students will have the opportunity to print out their pieces using the TRUE IMAGE Compatible Toner Cartridges.

These materials chosen will allow more time for students’ assignments and less time worrying about what they need to bring to the area or how to publish their final writing piece.
