Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my class students use a combination of 21st century skills such as Google Classroom, collaborative conversations, and visuals to both enhance their learning and to demonstrate their knowledge. Students will use chart paper to display work created using markers and construction paper.
I currently teach in a highly populated at-risk district.
Most of my students come from tough backgrounds- both financially and in regards to their family dynamic. I want my students to come to school without having to worry about materials and want to create a safe environment in my class. Our school is one that puts an emphasis on building relationships and rigorous instruction.
My Project
The construction paper, markers/ color pencils, and writing utensils I am requesting will help my students to better express themselves. It will give them a chance to build their 21st century skills of collaboratively working with their peers to produce a product. It will also ensure that students are working in a clean environment that is organized.
My project will make a difference because it will allow students to be creative without the burden of financial stress.
It is no secret that classroom supplies are expensive and this project will help lift that burden while encouraging students to take risks and express themselves.
