Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

100 days of school = 100 days smarter! My students want to show what they can do! What better way than a creation showing 100.

Our school is an applied learning school where students' learning is primarily through project based activities.

The students are eager to learn. The majority of students in my class are English language learners. Because students are learning English, we focus on language fluency and reading comprehension.

My Project

I have requested feathers, wiggly eyes, macaroni, jewels, and pom-poms so my students can create a 100th day of school hat. With these resources, my kindergartners will be able to show that they are 100 days smarter! We will make hats with 10 of each kind of button, jewel, feather, pom-pom, macaroni, wiggly eye, shape and sticker counting all the way up to 100. My students will see that groups of 10 will eventually make 100. The students will showcase this concept with their hat creations.

This project is so important because it reinforces math learning that we've done throughout the year.

Students will remember the concepts because they will remember their 100th day hat!
