Knowing that others recognize the value of my work to make school a place where children can thrive not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, means the world to me (and to my students). The children I serve deserve my very best, and these materials have significantly strengthened what I can offer them.\r\n\r\nAfter the (rather comical) arrival of the materials, which were delivered in bulk and piled high on the front desk before being wheeled to my supervisor's office on a cart, I was able to begin using some of them during the final weeks of the school year. I drew from activities in the books and implemented several tools right away. For instance, I used the Focus and Thrive book to provide strategies for a middle school student struggling with organization and prioritization, I used first-then-next cards during cognitive testing, and one of my autistic students absolutely fell in love with the wooden block puzzle.\r\n\r\nI'm incredibly excited to bring these resources with me to my first fully licensed position in the Greater Houston area. I feel far more prepared, and there will be no sad empty shelves in my office! Your generosity will benefit students of all ages for as long as I am in practice, which I intend to be many years.
