Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Outgoing, unstoppable, determined, and goal oriented are just a few words that I would use to describe these awesome 6th, 7th and 8th grade students that I have had the pleasure of facilitating on a daily basis. They enter the learning environment with the mindset to achieve their individual daily reading goals. To embrace their weakness and overcome them one step at a time. Many of the students' reading comprehension levels are three or more grade levels below their current grade; however, they work diligently to increase their reading level. I am so elated with my students and hope to reward them for their continued hard work and dedication this school year. The donations received through Donor Choose will assist me in making this year's awards program one that they will remember for years to come. Many of them have increased their reading lexile levels by one to two grade levels. Now that is something to celebrate! I want them to feel empowered with the gift of reading!
