Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 8th grade US History and I'm in need of an LCD Projector Combo! An LCD Projector is a great attention getter. Imagine a huge picture on a screen compared to a small photo in my hand. The lack of an LCD Projector causes some students not to connect to US History. Some students don't value history and it is my job to help them share my passion for history. Technology is the key!
When an image is projected on to the screen, my students are automatically engaged and it brings them into the lesson. An LCD Projector would be used in several ways by my students and me:
*Teacher Power Point Presentation (lesson summary)
*Student Power Point Presentation
*Historical DVDs such as the "Lewis & Clark Expedition"
*Power Point Tests
*Historical Pictures
An LCD projector will help engage my students, but most of all it will help bring focus to the ones who have trouble focusing. All of sudden the students with behavioral problems will be excelling! Something about technology captures the attention of those students who find it most difficult to focus on the lesson. Seeing their finished Power Point Presentation projected on the screen is imperative. Everyone's area of expertise differs, but technology is where they all shine, so it encourages them to do the best they can.
The projector will be utilized at least 3 days out of the week. If you choose to fund this proposal 160 students will SHINE and benefit from your help!
