My Students

How would you like to hold a book that is falling apart or has been around since 1940?

My students are 7-12 grades.

Our school is a high poverty level school as well as very isolated from the closest town. These resources will allow students to read new books that they are interested in as well as vote on their favorite book from this list in October 2012.

My Project

My students will not only learn to embrace new literature, but they will also find out that they can have a voice in the way new literature is selected for our classroom. The students in grades 7-9 will be allowed to vote for their favorite book from this list in October 2012 and they will see that they can make a difference in the book selection process.

Students in grades 7-9 will have the first choice at these books, like "Raised by Wolves" by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, but these books will also be available to my 10-12 students as well.

This list of books covers all genre of books from fantasy, action, graphic, mystery and more.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
