Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are the best and nothing less! My students are the future of America. They are the true dreamers. Since I expect nothing than the best from my students I also will always try to give them the best tools. Therefore, our challenge is to bring technology to the poorest area of our city.

The students are bright and intelligent young learners.

They love to be challenged and though they come from the poorest area of our city I believe that they can achieve whatever they want. Our school is a positive environment but has the challenge of moving the kids in a new direction. This is not easy since the school is located in an area where the social and economic status is linked to a high crime and a high instability of residence. Nonetheless, the expectations for our kids is met with the determination that we can provide the necessary tools for them. Therefore, since my kids are the future doctors, policemen, engineers, business associates, and leaders of this country I owe it to them to give them the best.

My Project

We all know that computers and the ability to use them effectively give our students a leading edge for their future. In watching the world around me and reading, I have been increasingly convinced that the technological age that we are living in can either be adapted in the classroom or can be ignored to the detriment of our kids. My solution to this is reach for the stars and ask all willing donors to help out in purchasing these computers. These netbooks will help my students become global leaders in their area of giftedness while allowing them to be on par with kids who come from a higher socioeconomic status. We will be able to graph tables online, write across the curriculum, research statistics, apply real world equations, and build the foundation for real mathematical literacy. The great thing about these netbooks is that it is truly the gift that keeps on giving because they will be used year after year and will reach an amount of at least 100 kids per year that I teach

I challenge every donor out there to dream big with us!

The impact your donation will have is much greater than you think because these kids have minimal exposure to the use real world technology in the context of academia. These kids can achieve anything we ask them to and it is for this reason that I am asking every individual and/or organization to accept are challenge and see what just one set of netbooks/laptops can do for our kids. I guarantee you I will be behind them 100 percent. Thanks.
