My Students

Questioning leads to thinking, remember the questions of a two year old! The Bloom's Taxonomy Flip charts will be quick reference for students to practice good questioning which will lead to good thinking!

My students are kind and happy, but they are not motivated.

One possibility for their lack of motivation stems from the limited job opportunities in our rural community. Learning to ask questions or to simply question will, in my opinion, be a step in them realizing there IS a world out there...and there are opportunities for them.

My Project

I am requesting 32 Bloom's Taxonomy Flip Charts, we will use these questioning flip charts each time we work in group literature circles. The questions provided on the flip chart (research based questions on Bloom's higher order of thinking skills) will guide the students into practicing the art of questioning. I believe when they learn to feel the personal power of questioning, their confidence to question and to think will strengthen. I believe that curiosity will help them to believe they have choices in and beyond our rural community.

The project is important to me because my students and my community are important to me.

Like everyone else, we are struggling with layoffs and close downs. I think this "BLOOMing Questions" Project will empower my students to be part of the solution of joblessness in our area.
