My Students

Our room needs sensory integration for us to learn and be successful!

Our room is a self-contained special education classroom.

We are active and need materials to help us focus. We are visual and kinesthetic learners. Movement helps us learn. At times we feel over-stimulated and need to regroup with sensory integration. Our teacher has tried to help us by consulting the school's OT but was told that "there are no funds available" for the materials that we need to progress.

My Project

In our room, the therapy balls will help us sit and listen to instruction. The body socks will help us self-regulate, and the headphones will help us cope when it gets LOUD from our friends screaming and during emergency drills. All the other stuff are fluff. Our teacher gave us the Abillitaitons catalog and told us to pick what we would like to have in our center. We voted and this is our TOP TEN LIST!

We need sensory integration in order to learn. Our present level of performance requires intensive and direct individualize instruction in a curriculum and a functional base setting to show achievement.
