My Students

How did you learn your multiplication facts? Was it with boring old flash cards? I have found the new, coolest way to teach multiplication to my students: Multiplication Wrap-Ups!

I teach fourth and fifth grade students in a suburban school in Texas.

I teach language arts, social studies, and math. I have a wonderful group of math students. Many students at my school are economically disadvantaged. We have a diverse student population. My students are very hard workers and are excited to learn new things!

My Project

I am requesting Multiplication Wrap-ups, a teacher guide, and a CD. The Wrap-ups look like a yellow key and students wrap a red string around it to practice each fact (x2, x3, etc.) There is a "rap" to go with the "wrap ups" that makes it really appealing to this age group. Students work on this really hard for 10 days at school and at home in order to master their multiplication facts. This program helps all types of learners and makes multiplication lots of fun. Students can have "wrap-up" races and the teacher can give out treats for students showing improvement on daily practice.

This project is so important because it will help all of my students become "Multiplication Super Stars!" Once students are good at multiplication facts, the other types of math problems are so much easier for them.
